About Us

The Lancashire Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs (YFC) is part of a voluntary youth service aimed at young people aged 10-28. Our goal is to foster the education, development, and personal growth of young people through self-reliance, leadership, and community participation. Our members manage the Federation democratically, allowing them to develop valuable skills for the future.

The Role

We are looking for a self-motivated and organised individual to join as Co-ordinator to the Federation. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration of the Federation and ensuring the smooth coordination of its activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient administration services to support the Federation’s officers, members, clubs, and volunteers.
  • Coordinate the annual calendar of events, competitions, and meetings.
  • Develop and maintain the Federation’s website, and social media platforms.
  • Organise and manage office operations, including room bookings, cleaners, and contractors and manage the administration of the federations finance and bookkeeping.
  • Support the development of the Federation with funding opportunities, bids and business plans.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including press and media, to raise the Federation’s profile.
  • Ensure compliance with Safeguarding, charities commission, Health & Safety, and risk assessment requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT and digital skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Xero, website content management, and social media.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding, basic bookkeeping, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Experience in the voluntary or youth sector is desirable but not essential along with awareness of the agricultural industry.
