Winners of the 2023 Farm Safety Skills competition enjoyed their prize of a day out to see behind the scenes of JCB’s world famous diggers on a VIP factory tour in June.
The four-strong team from Pembrokeshire toured the Staffordshire headquarters and learnt interesting facts about the machines and manufacturing process.
Winners Caryl and Rhys Bevan, William Lewis and Berwyn Warlow also enjoyed a three-course lunch in JCB's VIP hospitality suite.
Rhys, who has JCBs at home on the family farm, was keen to find out more about the company history.
“It was good seeing the steel coming in at the start and then the JCB driving out at the end, it was really good to see the whole process.
“We saw the story of JCB and the showroom as well with the display. There was only us four on the tour so it was really personal as well. They were very good to us,” said Rhys.
Pembrokeshire are competing in the competition again this year and Rhys says it was an impressive prize to add to their overall trophy win.
The team, who have won the competition many times in the past, will be hoping for a win again at this year’s Competitions Day, where JCB have kindly offered the prize again for the first place winners.
