The National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC) has announced, during National Young Farmers’ Week (5-9 October 2026), a new 12-month partnership with Moorgate Finance.
The collaboration will provide investment in key projects, educational resources and opportunities for young farmers over the next 12 months.
The two organisations have a shared belief in the importance of investing in the next generation and ensuring young people can reach their full potential.
NFYFC is the largest rural youth organisation in the UK with 23,000 members across England and Wales, and more than 560 clubs and 47 county federations. The partnership will give the members and their families access to Moorgate Agricultural Finance, enabling it to provide expert financial guidance as members progress through their careers.
The investment from Moorgate will also support NFYFC’s programme of work throughout the membership year, delivering valuable benefits for members.
Through the sponsorship, the partnership will draw on Moorgate's expertise in the farming sector to help develop business resources and guidance for young farmers. Moorgate is keen to share how it is more than just a finance partner, but a trusted source of support young farmers can rely on, including for members preparing to take over the family farm who want to make sound financial decisions for the future. The team is committed to meeting members face to face and explaining finance in plain English.
The independent finance company has offices in Towcester and Cambridge and serves clients across the UK. Its agricultural team combines professional expertise with personal farming experience, providing an informed understanding of the challenges affecting farming businesses. Moorgate is committed to keeping food production in the UK and believes a strong, educated and well-funded farming sector matters to the whole country, which is why it backs both current and next generation farmers.
Farmers and agricultural providers have worked with Moorgate to refinance old equipment and machinery as well as on diversification projects.
Their solutions include providing cash flow facilities, asset finance, invoice finance, feed and fertiliser funding, farm mortgages, land purchase, livestock finance, tenancy right to buy and renewable energy. Diversification support ranges from retail and accommodation to renewable energy projects such as solar, biomass, wind and battery storage.
Moorgate also offers a free business health check covering finance and insurance, including a review of insurance premiums and a utility bill assessment, so farmers can assess their current business situation, identify money-saving opportunities and receive advice and solutions for future planning, with no obligation whatsoever.
"NFYFC is delighted to be partnering with Moorgate Finance and we are excited about working together over the next year. With many of their team involved in farming, they appreciate the nuances of the sector and understand the support young farmers need.
“Their investment in YFC will help us to deliver important projects and develop valuable resources that will benefit our members.
“What makes this such a strong partnership is our shared commitment to supporting rural young people to achieve their full potential.”
"None of us can recall a more confusing and difficult time for UK farmers. Legislation is changing faster than businesses can adapt, government schemes such as the Sustainable Farming Incentive are proving difficult to navigate, and farmers are expected to make medium- to long-term buying decisions before short-term funding is secured. It really is a turbulent time for our farmers, young and old.
"Through this partnership, we hope to bring some clarity to an unfamiliar world for the thousands of young farmers entering the sector in these uncertain times. Of course, we hope to provide significant levels of funding to the sector, but if along the way we can offer understanding, education, or simply a sounding board that gives members confidence, we will have achieved our aims."
National Young Farmers’ Week runs from 5-9 October 2026 and clubs across England and Wales are celebrating how YFC gives them a sense of belonging.
