Support for the community:

Our members volunteered at the Christmas Sack Appeal in Lincoln to help them wrap presents and pack food packages for families living in poverty at Christmas time.

As a club we’ve organised a Christmas collection for a local dog shelter with items donated by members and the local community to help over Christmas.

We held our annual nativity at Harmston Parish Church and collected donations to go towards the running and upkeep of the church and the work they do.

Favourite Christmas activity:

It was definitely the wreath making and seeing how crafty and creative our members are!

Why we are the most festive YFC club:

We always make sure we cram our December programme with plenty of fun and interactive Christmas meetings and activities.

We have our club Christmas meal each year where we invite our club leaders and advisory for some lovely food and a good catch up before the new year.

We also run a Christmas charity tractor run each year where we raise money for an amazing worthwhile agricultural charity – this year it’s for Forage Aid. It’s an amazing spectacle for families to enjoy as we travel through the local villages.

This year we wanted to focus on those less fortunate than ourselves, which is why we volunteered at the Christmas Sack project to spread the magic of Christmas to everyone.

The judges comments

Not only did this club have some brilliant festive jumpers but we really loved the care they showed their community this Christmas time. They actively sought ways to help others –from helping with the Christmas Sack Appeal to supporting the dog shelter, and even putting on a nativity in the local church.

We think this club has made a positive impact locally this year – spreading kindness and the YFC festive spirit. Well done everyone at Harmston YFC and Merry Christmas.
