Involving juniors in Pontrilas YFC's activities is important to Club Chair Gracie Coles who leads 53 members in her Herefordshire club and says it's important to delegate roles.
Everything that goes on behind closed doors! Phone calls, emails, being relied on for lots of questions and the chaos for membership deadlines.
We like to keep the juniors involved as much as the seniors. I think it's great they can join in with things for all ages. I find the juniors look up to us a lot, so it's nice we can involve them with what we do.
Lots of lists, I find being organised is key when you have a busy work life outside of YFC.
When I write the programme for upcoming events, I write out the next three months worth at least so I know I have time to plan ahead.
Public speaking! I would never have stood and talked in front of more than 20 people before this role, and now I do it without worrying and without any nerves! It's grown my confidence massively.
It's always hard being the newbie so we welcome anyone with open arms and get them chatting to members of all ages.
We also give them a new members' package, which includes a little bit about our club and all things YFC.
Learning you don't have to do it all! When there's lots to organise, and you're also taking part, it can become stressful so asking for help is key.
Base the programme off the year before and always write ideas down as the year goes on!
Lots of bbq and rounders during summer months, some go karting and day trips to the races alongside having farm tours is always great.
Delegate! I find giving each leader a role when times get busy makes life much easier for everyone.
Work as a team and encourage everyone to get involved and try new things, especially junior members, as they are the future of YFC.
