We began this membership year with a lively new members’ evening, filled with games, food, and fun – a brilliant way to break the ice.
Additionally members have rolled up their sleeves for a series of training and “have-a-go” sessions, all designed to prepare for the upcoming Field Day Competitions. These hands-on workshops included: pig, butchers' beef and fat lamb stockjudging, chicken jointing, lamb trimming and decorating a yule log.
Eisteddfod, in particular Mime to Music and Dancing, February Festival, Rally – stockjudging, cooking, flower arranging and Field Day – and our treasure hunt.
Every Christmas, our club past and present members alike, come together for three magical nights of Carol Singing around our local area.
In 2024, we proudly raised £2718.46 for two incredible charities: Blood Bikes Wales and Alder Hey Hospital, bringing festive joy and support to those who need it most.
Our annual Treasure Hunt and Bingo fundraising evenings are firm favourites, drawing in the local community for fun and generous giving.
In partnership with the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust, members crafted and installed bird boxes throughout the community, helping to protect local birdlife and promote environmental conservation.
We've been organising a mix of club evenings that blend fun - Jump In Shrewsbury – food such as an Indian evening, crafts such as Christmas wreath making, and educational talks - Blood Bikes Wales – and visits to a Magistrates Court, ensuring there's something for everyone.
From skill-building sessions that prepare members for upcoming competitions, to hands-on environmental projects and fundraising events, our calendar is packed with opportunities to grow, connect, and make a difference.
We have been showcasing our journey on social media to inspire others and welcome new faces into our club.
Our club has come a long way since the pandemic as we struggled to start back up again and even though we lack senior members, we place highly in all competitions and make sure we enter everything we can.
I am proud of how far we have come and winning Club of the Month will show everyone how hard work pays off!

We loved the focus on keeping Llidiartywaen YFC's junior members engaged and such a wide variety of activities for everyone to enjoy.
They have worked hard to promote their activities on social media so they can keep growing their club and have done a great job building up a loyal membership since the pandemic.
We also liked that they are supporting their community through environmental projects as well as fundraising and hosting events. Well done to everyone at the club – a great start to the new membership year!
