Rushbury & Cardington YFC, Shropshire.
We currently have around 30 members in the club.
A club room in Gretton, near Cardington in the heart of Shropshire.
We have recently placed second when representing Shropshire at the West Midlands Area finals in Tug of War. We have also have been on a farm machinery tour, gone wild swimming, played in the hockey finals and enjoyed laser tag.
We love taking part in Tug of War, and the acting competition held at the West Midlands Area. Anything active, we will get our teeth stuck into it.
We choose two different local charities every year and this year it's Shrewsbury’s Men’s Shed and Severn Hospice.
We raised funds over three nights of Carol Singing, spreading the Christmas spirit. We also host a skittles night and on 5 July, we will be hosting a coffee morning at Cardington Village Hall to raise more funds for these amazing charities.
We are a very community-oriented club, and during the heatwave over the bank holiday weekend, a local tourist attraction was overwhelmed by visitors. Unfortunately, a significant amount of litter was left behind.
Members of our club, alongside local residents, volunteered their time to clear away the rubbish and help restore the area.
This act of kindness reflects the club’s strong commitment to supporting the local community and protecting the environment.
I believe the club deserves recognition for its efforts, and for also providing an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact of littering in our Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs).

In a moment of need, Rushbury and Cardington YFC reacted quickly to support their community. Their act of kindness demonstrated how important it is to help others but also their concern for protecting the environment.
The club also organises activities and fundraisers in their community too, as well as finding time to throw themselves into YFC competitions and activities.
Well done to everyone involved in the club!
