The NFYFC Pig Live and Carcase Judging competition challenges young farmers to apply their livestock assessment skills by evaluating live pigs and carcases. Teams of two, comprising members aged 21 and under or 28 and under, will be tasked with placing animals in order of merit and providing reasons for their decisions. Competitors will also gain valuable insights from industry experts, helping them refine their judging and presentation skills.
The National Final will take place at the English Winter Fair at Staffordshire Showground on 16-17 November 2024. This prestigious event offers participants the chance to compete for the English Winter Fair Trophy, prize cards, and certificates of achievement. The competition is an excellent opportunity for young farmers to develop their knowledge of market demands, communication, and critical thinking under pressure.
