His Majesty the King confirmed as Patron of NFYFC

The National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC) is delighted to announce that His Majesty The King has been confirmed as its new Patron.

King Charles III succeeds his mother Queen Elizabeth II, who served as NFYFC’s Patron for 65 years.

The King also served as NFYFC’s President from 2002-2006, where he kindly organised visits to Highgrove for YFC members and presented awards at The Royal Show.

The patronage marks a significant milestone in NFYFC’s history and continues the organisation’s long-standing relationship with the Royal Family.

The King’s patronage highlights the importance of Young Farmers’ Clubs to rural young people as well as their role supporting local communities and the agricultural sector.

NFYFC Chair of Council Drew Bailey said:

“NFYFC is honoured that His Majesty The King is our Royal Patron. His Majesty’s commitment to Young Farmers’ Clubs reflects our proud history of nine decades of developing rural young people’s skills.

“As a former President of the National Federation, we are privileged to now have His Majesty serve as our Patron.

"His Majesty's commitment to the countryside and the welfare of rural communities perfectly aligns with the mission of NFYFC and its clubs and counties. Much of our work focuses on developing rural young people’s skills and raising awareness about opportunities in the sector.”

As we welcome His Majesty as our new Patron, we also pay tribute to the support given by his predecessor and mother Queen Elizabeth II.

During her incredible 65 years as our Patron, The Queen met with YFC members over her many years of service, including presenting awards at The Royal Show. The Queen showed a keen interest in agriculture, and several of the Royal Estates and Residences hold working farms. She was a true countrywoman, who understood the challenges young farmers face to feed the nation and always championed rural communities.

The appointment of His Majesty as NFYFC's new Patron not only demonstrates a shared dedication to the development of rural young people but also honours the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II’s steadfast service to Young Farmers’ Clubs.
