The NFYFC Beef Live and Carcase judging competition offers young farmers the chance to demonstrate their skills in assessing both live cattle and beef carcases. Open to teams of two, with members aged 21 and under, or 28 and under, this competition provides an opportunity to apply knowledge of livestock judging, carcass classification, and market demands. Competitors will evaluate cattle and carcases, placing them in order of merit, and will give reasons to industry experts, receiving valuable feedback for their development.
The competition will take place at the prestigious English Winter Fair on 16-17 November 2024, at the Staffordshire Showground. Teams will compete for top honours, including the English Winter Fair Trophy, prize cards, and certificates of achievement. This event not only hones technical skills but also helps develop presentation abilities and communication under pressure.
Competitors will judge two groups of live cattle in Part I and two groups of beef carcases in Part II.
