Call for expressions of interest/applications - Board Member

The NFYFC is currently seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic individual to join its Board of Management (BoM) for a two-year term of office (a further term of two years is available thereafter) Applications from those with the following specialisms are particularly welcome:

  • Diversity & Inclusion
  • Change Management
  • Youthwork and/or learning

The purpose of the roles is to bring external and independent management experience to the NFYFC Board.

Term of office: Two-year term of office (a further term of two years is available thereafter).

For this call:-

  • Independent applications can be made by those not closely associated with the NFYFC and with the skills and experience to bring to the Board of a national charitable organisation working with and for young people in rural England and Wales.

All Expression/Applications of Interests to be submitted on NFYFCs Board Application Form.

Application deadline: 12 noon Monday 19 August 2024

Applications are welcomed those independent of YFC membership who can:-

  • Contribute to the leadership and direction of the NFYFC, and
  • Provide insight and perspective of the needs of YFC members, with an appetite to develop the existing skills of YFC members, and
  • bring creativity to the Board.

The primary responsibility is to act as one of the Managing (Charity) Trustees of the NFYFC. The Board of Management (Charity Trustees) must act as the guardians of the financial, legal & intellectual (reputation) integrity of the organisation – in other words, to safeguard the finance, risk & reputation of the organisation – this is a legal responsibility of every Managing Trustee of every charitable organisation.

Those expressing an interest in this post will need personal authority, integrity and the ability to provide sound objective advice. They should be well organised, resilient and have knowledge/experience that will contribute to steering the direction of this organisation working across England and Wales as well as the ability to champion, influence and support the organisation as it develops.

The roles therefore require confident decision makers with excellent communication and people skills.
