4. ELECTION OF OFFICERS

4.1. President - MOTION FROM NFYFC COUNCIL

“That Mr Nigel Owens be thanked for his services to NFYFC and be duly elected President from April 2021 – to next Annual General Meeting”

“That the 2020 deputy presidents be thanked for their services to the federation over the past year and that the following be elected from April 2021 – to next Annual General Meeting”

5. MOTION FROM COUNTY DURHAM FEDERATION OF YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUBS 

“In recognition of contributions over the past 50 years to County Durham Federation of Young Farmers and to the Club and to Area and NFYFC that, Mrs Diane Coles be elected Life Vice President of the Federation”

6. MOTION FROM GWENT FEDERATION OF YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUBS 

“That items 25 (4) & (5) of the NFYFC Constitution, items 5.2, 5.3 & 5.4 of the Open Club Constitution and item 8.2 of the County Federation Constitution be amended as follows” 

Agenda note:  These amendments are designed to change the upper age of YFC membership from 26 years of age to 28 years of age – effective 1st September 2021 – no other change.

NFYFC shall deem that the amendments (or equivalent amendments) have been made to the constitution of each affiliated Open Club and County Federation on 1st September 2021.

Affiliated Open Clubs and County Federations may deem that the amendments (or equivalent amendments) have been made to their constitutions on 1st September 2021. 

That items 25 (4) & (5) of the NFYFC Constitution, items 5.2, 5.3 & 5.4 of the Open Club Constitution and item 8.2 of the County Federation Constitution be amended as follows”

That item 25 (4) and (2) which state,

INTERPRETATION

25 In these rules, unless the contrary intention appears:

(4) An ‘affiliated Young Farmers’ Club’ is an association of not less than six young people between the ages of 10 and 26, formed in accordance with the form of constitution and rules approved by a General Meeting of the Federation.  All such Clubs other than School Clubs shall be known as Open Clubs.  A School Club is one based on a specific school where the membership is generally drawn from pupils of that School.

(5) Associate Members of an affiliated Young Farmers’ Club are persons over 26 years of age, duly elected by the members to enjoy the privileges to which such membership entitles them, but without power to vote on matters of Club business or to hold office, except that they may hold office, with voting rights if, in the opinion of the Club, no other person of membership age is able to take up that office.

(5) Associate Members of an affiliated Young Farmers Club are persons who are more than 28 years of age on 1st September in any year in which any office, international visit or other such activity or event is held and have been duly elected by the members to enjoy the privileges to which such membership entitles them, but without power to vote on matters of Club business or to hold office, except that they may hold office, with voting rights if, in the opinion of the Club, no other person of membership age is able to take up that office.

That items 5.2,5.3 & 5.4 which state,

5.2 Membership shall be available to such persons who are not less than 10 years of age when they join a Club. 

5.3 Membership remains available to a person who is 26 years of age or under on 1st September in any year in which any office, international visit or other such activity or event is held.

5.4 Associate Members

Associate Members are persons over 26 years of age, duly elected by the Club members to enjoy the privileges to which such membership entitles them, without power to vote on matters of Club business, except that they may hold office, with voting rights, if, in the opinion of the Club, no other person of membership age is able to take up that office.

5.2 Membership of an affiliated Young Farmers Club shall be made up of Members and Associated Members as defined in the NFYFC Constitution.

5.3 Members of an affiliated Young Farmers Club shall have power to vote on matters of Club business or to hold office.

5.4 Associate Members of an affiliated Young Farmers Club shall not have power to vote on matters of Club business or to hold office, except that they may hold office, with voting rights if, in the opinion of the Club, no other person of membership age is able to take up that office.

County Federation Constitution template 

That item 8.2 which states,

8.2 Elected Members

Each Member Club shall elect  annually ……………………………………….representative(s).

(In the event of its being provided that more than one representative shall be elected by each Club) one of such representatives shall be a Member of a Young Farmers’ Club under twenty-six years of age.

be amended to read:

8.2 Elected Members

Each Member Club shall elect annually ……………………………………….representative(s).

(In the event of its being provided that more than one representative shall be elected by each Club) one of such representatives shall be a Member (as defined in the NFYFC Constitution) of an affiliated Young Farmers Club.

7. PRESENTATION OF ANNUAL REPORT AND AUDITED ACCOUNTS

7.1. Annual Report presented by Dewi Parry, Chair, NFYFC Council 2020 and assisted by the Chairs of the 2020 NFYFC Steering Groups.

7.2. Audited Accounts presented by: Delme Harries, Chair of NFYFC Board of Management

7.3. MOTION FROM NFYFC COUNCIL

“That the audited accounts for 2020 as printed be adopted and that a firm of auditors, Crowe U.K. LLP be appointed for 2021”

8. ADOPTION OF THE ANNUAL REPORT
