YFC Video competition

We all know that being a YFC member means you’re part of something pretty amazing. But we’re not sure if enough people realise the true impact YFCs have on local communities, charities, the industry and each other!

That's why NFYFC, supported by Natwest, is launching a video competition for all YFCs to get involved in. We want your YFC to create an amazing promotional film to encourage others to join your club. Remember you don’t need fancy recording kit to create a video – your phone’s video function will do the job (Steven Soderbergh shot his latest film Unsane on an iPhone!).

There are a few rules and regs but most of all it’s about having fun and spreading the message about True YFC.

To choose a winning entry, we have two special judges who know a thing or two about being in front of the camera – our very own President Charlotte Smith who is a regular presenter on Countryfile and Gareth Wyn Jones – star of BBC’s The Hill Farm.

Charlotte said: “I want your films to show the fun you have, the kind of skills you pass on and the work you do for your local communities. So, come on – this is your chance to show the true face of YFC."

  • Your video must be no longer than one minute and 30 seconds long.
  • You must show the range of ages in your club and highlight at least three of the following topics in your video:
    • Competitions
    • Community work/charity fundraising
    • Training activities
    • Friendship
    • Travel
    • Agricultural activities
  • Once you’re happy with the final film, upload it to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, tag NFYFC and @NatWestBusiness in your post, and use hashtags #TrueYFC #NationalYoungFarmersWeek
  • Your video must be posted between 8-12 October during National Young Farmers’ Week 2018 for it to be entered into the competition. The competition closes at midnight on 12 October 2018.
  • Please remember to seek correct filming permissions – especially under 18 parental consent.
