Litter picking kits

If your club is based in one of the following counties, then the Environment Agency can provide equipment as part of its work on the Preventing Plastic Pollution Project.

Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, West Sussex, Surrey, East Sussex, Kent, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire.

Our kits include litter pickers, reusable gloves, disposable bin bags made from recycled agricultural plastic, bag opening hoops, reusable litter pick bags, a spring balance to weigh your litter, clipboards to help record what you find, hi viz vests, refillable and recyclable aluminium bottles of hand sanitiser, and a first aid kit.

To request a kit, email this email address, with your club address and the number of people who plan to take part in your litter pick. Kits will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Clubs outside of these counties can contact your local council, who may be able to provide some equipment. Please note, you do not necessarily need all this equipment to take part.

If carrying out a litter pick in a small group, you can plan to take your litter home to sort and dispose of it, according to local recycling guidelines.

If you plan on collecting a large amount of litter you may want to contact your local council to see if they will collect it and agree a collection location.
