The National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC) is one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK. It heads a nationwide body of 624 Young Farmers’ Clubs (YFCs) throughout England and Wales.

Led by young people, for young people, YFCs provide 25,000 members aged 10 to 26 with a unique opportunity to develop skills, work with their local community, travel abroad, take part in a varied competitions programme and enjoy a dynamic social life.


Youth Development Officer

This post is available full-time (37½ hrs/wk)

Based at Stoneleigh Park, Nr Kenilworth, Warwickshire

Salary is expected to be circa £24,950 –

The National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs is looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic youth development officer to join the team. 

The successful candidate will be experienced in working with young people, have excellent administration skills and a good working knowledge of youth work curriculum and training programmes which result in clear learning outcomes.  Candidates will have good interpersonal skills, the ability to establish positive relationships with young people, youth leaders and supporters.  They should be passionate about working with people and in particular the needs of young people as well as being flexible in their approach with a broad range of stakeholders.

The post holder will report to the Development and Training Manager and manage the administration of the training programmes.  They will assist the team in the development of a range of youth work and training programmes and resources.  The team also provides guidance and support to County Young Farmers’ Clubs and its members on a policy issues and safeguarding.

In addition candidates will be experienced in:-

  • Implement safeguarding procedures and handling enquiries.
  • Devising support material and training sessions.
  • Championing the needs and well being of young people and adults at risk.
  • Working with volunteers/supporters.

Good written and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be expected to liaise with members, volunteers, colleagues and county staff.   You will be required to record data, produce reports and correspondence as required, using appropriate ICT packages.

The successful candidate will work well on their own and as part of a team and show enthusiasm with a creative approach to their work.

The post is available full-time (37½ hrs/wk) and is based at the NFYFC Office, Stoneleigh Park, Nr Kenilworth, Warwickshire, although travel throughout England and Wales will be occasionally required.

YFC Ski 2018 - Eastern Area Sales Representative

YFC Ski 2018 – Val d’ Isère, France 6th – 13th January 2018

Job Description
To promote the YFC SKI trip to members of the YFC within the Eastern YFC Area & County Federations, and to sell the 2018 holiday.

Place of work:
From home & travelling to area locations

A free place on the 2018 Ski Trip will be allocated to the area sales representative at a ratio of 1 per 32 holidays sold ie: Every 33rd place - this means you must sell 32 places to get your base holiday free of charge.  A sliding scale incentive will be applied to those not achieving the sales target of 32 holidays sold.

A free place is defined as Base Holiday (valued at £409), committee t-shirt, beanie hat, full area ski pass & premium ski equipment hire. Return travel is not included and must be paid for; accommodation upgrades are available at your own cost.

o    Members of YFC Clubs affiliated to the NFYFC only
o    Those YFC members that are 18 years of age of over on or before the day of travel (6th January 2018)
•    To communicate with members regarding any queries, trip plans & travel etc.
•    To keep an up to date filing system with all correspondence, bookings & special requirements
•    To report to the NFYFC Ski Head Rep (Ben Westwood) progress of bookings
•    To act as a main contact before the event for members booked through your area
•    Prior to the holiday, liaise with the NFYFC Head Rep ,whilst the programme of entertainment is being finalised – your ideas and thoughts will be very very welcome and helpful

Cambridgeshire County Organiser/Development Officer

Cambridgeshire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs are currently recruiting a County Organiser/Development Officer to join the team.

Cambs FYFC is a member led organisation offering young people aged 10 -26 with an interest in the countryside and rural issues, opportunities for personal development, community involvement and a varied social life.

This unique opportunity includes youth work, admin/office duties and development of our federation. The role is predominantly based at our office in Graveley, St Neots with some travel required to support our clubs.

  • 30 hours per week
  • Must be flexible as hours include evenings and weekends
  • £15,000 per annum plus expenses
